Die Ansaugöffnungen des Luftfilterkastens sehen von hinten ja sehr geil aus...
Unbedingt weiß lassen!
Ansonsten... Naja... Mein Ding ists nicht...
Bin nicht so der Fan von hochgezogenen Hecks und die Front ist auch etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig...
Aber schön gemacht siehts auf den Bildern aus...

Matte black is one of my favourite colors, but i like it better in combination with matte red...
Actually I painted my old GSX in those colors...
The full rat-look is a little bit too much for me...
Often the a rat-bike is just an old rotten bike which is called rat-bike, just to find an excuse why it is rotten...
But yours looks well made to me and it seems, that technically everything is ok...

I wouldn't call my bike a rat ... there is a lot of arguments about what a rat is, my understanding is that a rat is a bike that is basically used abused and neglected and any repairs are done the cheapest way possible, improvising parts etc, they don't have to be matt coloured but generally are

survival bikes - are sometimes confused with rat bikes in that they appear a little ratty looking but did not evolve that way through years of abuse and neglect, but rather were built that way to give a post apocolyptic look similar to that of films such as the MAD MAX films

i dont think mine is either though, its a little bit of all - i mean the streetfighter influence is there, the rat influence is there and the survival influence is there too - from some angles i see cafe racer, its a sportsbike, .... for arguments sake when people ask i usually just say its a custom bike and leave it there.

the airbox at the back may look good, but when it rains its not very practical as the tyre flicks water up and into the foam. and so it doesnt run very well in the rain as it struggles for air :(

Hi,
how much work was it to get the tank on the bike?

Did the size fit, that the original holder at the frame can be used to hold the tank?

It looks on the picture that some work on the tank was done on the front, or did you just have some colour work for other reason?

hi the tank is from ebay i got it cheap because there was a leak wich the owner has fixed by welding a plate to the other side... this is what the patch at the front bottom is - its where the paint burned with the heat of the weld.

the original tank mounts on the gpx frame are about 5mm too wide either side for the tank to sit on - i chopped the tabs off that hold the rubbers and drill a hole through the rubbers and bolt them tighter to the frame - the back of the frame where the back of the tank bolts down - with the original subframe should bolt straight down to there as the dimensions are the same as the zr7 tank tabs but my subframe gets in the way so i will need to make a bracket to highen it slightly

i will get some pictures up when i get a chance - other than that it was a straight fit
